NEW YORK, September 16, 2024 (WAFA) - The UNRWA Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini, said that UNRWA and partners vaccinated hundreds of thousands of children, reaching 90% vaccination coverage. “Our next challenge is to provide children with their second dose at the end of September.”
“A rare positive story from Gaza: the 1st. round of the polio vaccination campaign ended successfully,” said Lazzarini in a post on X.
“When there is a political will, assistance can be provided without disruption,” he added.
He stressed that what people in Gaza urgently need, wherever they are, is an immediate ceasefire.
