AMMAN, Tuesday, July 16 2024 (WAFA) – The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs today condemned in the strongest terms the systematic Israeli targeting of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and its buildings and shelter centers.

The Ministry’s official spokesman, Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah, affirmed the Kingdom’s condemnation and absolute rejection of Israel’s continued violation of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law, targeting civilians and the headquarters of relief organizations and their workers.

Ambassador Al-Qudah added that Israel's attempts to undermine the role of UNRWA, which plays an essential role in providing vital services to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the continuation of UNRWA's work is an utmost necessity to preserve the Palestinian refugee issue.

Ambassador Al-Qudah renewed his call to the international community, especially the Security Council, to take immediate and decisive steps to stop these crimes and provide protection for Palestinian civilians and relief facilities, especially UNRWA, to carry out its major humanitarian role in providing humanitarian aid.
