Presidency rejects Israel’s decision to deduct from Palestinian clearing funds

Ramallah,  Sunday, July 31, 2022 (WAFA) - The presidency's spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh rejected the Israeli government's decision to deduct 600 million shekels from the Palestinian clearing fund, slamming it aspiracy and theft of the  Palestinian people's money.

He added that the Palestinian leadership, headed by President Mahmoud Abbas, categorically rejects this dangerous decision, and affirms that the rights of prisoners will be safeguarded despite pressures and it will not allow a penny to be deducted from the money of the Palestinian prisoners who fought for freedom, Jerusalem, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Abu Rudeineh stressed that this decision is irresponsible and contrary to international law, urging the international community to pressure Israel to stop and cancel such provocative measures.

He added that the Israeli government must now review its positions and decisions to prevent the situation from reaching a dangerous impasse.
