Palestine records 933 new coronavirus cases, four deaths

RAMALLAH, Tuesday, January 18, 2022 (WAFA) – Palestine today recorded 933 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths, according to Health Minister Mai Al-Kaileh.

She announced that 933 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and four others died of it in the occupied territories.

Among the new 933 cases, 756 cases were recorded in the West Bank and 177 others in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Al-Kaileh identified the death cases as residents of the West Bank. No death cases were registered in the Gaza Strip.

She added that 263 Covid-19 patients recovered; 183 recovery cases in the West Bank and 80 others in the Gaza Strip.

She pointed that 63 Covid-19 patients are getting treatment in intensive care units, including 24 who are connected to ventilators, while 102 others are currently hospitalized across the West Bank.

Recoveries account for 97.5 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March 2020, active cases for 1.4 percent and the death toll accounts for 1.1 percent.
