RAMALLAH, Friday, September 24, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Friday overnight detained eight Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, according to local and security sources.

They said that Israeli forces re-arrested a former prisoner after stopping him at the entrance of Yatta town, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

The detainee was identified as a resident of Bani Na‘im town, east of the city.

In Ramallah district, the sources confirmed a raid in Beit Liqya town, west of the city, resulting in the detention of a woman.

In Jerusalem district, Israeli forces barged their way into Biddu town, northwest of the city, where they detained three others.

Soldiers detained another from the vicinity of Bilal Bin Rabah Mosque, also known to Israelis as Rachel’s Tomb.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces barged their way into Qabatiya town, south of Jenin city in the northern West Bank, where they rounded up another after ransacking his house.

They also conducted a similar raid in Aqaba town, north of Tubas city, resulting in the detention of a former prisoner, as confirmed by Director of the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) Office, Kamal Bani-Odeh.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
