RAMALLAH, Sunday, April 18, 2021 (WAFA) – Weather today in Palestine is partly cloudy to clear as a very hot and dry heatwave continues to affect the region, raising temperature to 10 to 12°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Winds are light to moderate, northwesterly to northeasterly, and sea waves are low.
Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 23°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 32°C and a low of 22°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 39°C and a low of 27°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 33°C and a low of 26°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A further rise in temperature is expected on Monday to become 13 to 15°C above the seasonal average with extremely hot and dry conditions in all districts.
However, a significant drop in temperature is expected on Tuesday, which nevertheless, remains above the seasonal average, said the PMD which warned people against exposure to direct sunlight for a long period, particularly between 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, and setting fire to areas with dry grass.
Partially cloudy conditions are expected for Wednesday. Temperature is expected to drop again while remaining above the seasonal average.
