Colonists attack Palestinian olive harvesters near Beita, south of Nablus

NABLUS, October 2, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists this morning attacked Palestinian farmers while they were picking olives in the Jabal Al-Arma area, east of the town of Beita, south of Nablus, and fired live ammunition at them. No injuries were reported.

Local sources said the colonists targeted the farmers during the olive harvest, opening fire toward them without causing reported injuries.

The attack comes amid a sharp rise in colonist violence across the occupied West Bank. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported in September that colonist attacks had affected 275 Palestinian communities in 2026, nearly matching the 279 communities affected throughout 2025, which was the highest annual figure recorded since OCHA began documenting such incidents in 2006.

During the 2025 olive harvest, OCHA documented 178 colonist attacks between October 1 and November 30 that resulted in casualties, property damage or both, including assaults on farmers, theft of crops and harvesting equipment, and damage to olive trees and saplings.
