GAZA, October 2, 2026 (WAFA) — Three Palestinians, including an elderly woman and a child, were injured early today as Israeli occupation forces opened heavy fire in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Local sources said an elderly woman was injured on Street 5 and a young man in Hamad City neighborhood after Israeli military vehicles opened heavy fire. Meantime, a young girl, Sahar Al-Shawaf, was also injured by Israeli gunfire targeting tents east of Hamad City, north of Khan Younis.

Civil Defense crews said they recovered the remains of slain Palestinian man Tamer Al-Hamida, who was targeted by an Israeli drone in the Al-Iqlimi area south of the Gaza Strip the previous night. The remains were transferred to Nasser Medical Complex.

In Gaza City, Israeli forces fired illumination flares east of the city and carried out two demolitions in the northeast and east. An Israeli drone also targeted the vicinity of Al-Shuja'iyya intersection with bombs, while Israeli aircraft carried out strikes east of Al-Tuffah neighborhood.
