RAMALLAH, January 31, 2013 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies Thursday reported on the Israeli warplanes targeting a convoy transporting developed missiles from Syria to the Lebanese borders.
Al-Quds front page headline read: “Security officials: Israel shelled SA-17 cargo transferred from Syria to Lebanon.”
Al-Hayat al-Jadida highlighted President Mahmoud Abbas saying the formation of the new government will begin as soon as the elections commence in the Gaza Strip.
It printed photos of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hanna Nasser, chair of the Central Election Commission in a meeting in Gaza and another photo of Abbas during his meeting in Ramallah with services committees in Palestinian camps.
Al-Ayyam printed a photo of Israelis receiving gas masks from a distribution center in the illegal settlement of Pisgat Ze'ev in East Jerusalem fearing the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian army or other hostile parties.
It reported on Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau commissioning the Jordanian King Abdullah II to inform US President Barak Obama of Hamas’ acceptance of the two-state solution, which was denied by member of the Political Bureau Izzat al-Rashq.
