GAZA, August 19, 2011 (WAFA) – An Israeli missile Friday hit a motorcycle in Beit Lahiya, north of the Gaza Strip, killing one Palestinian making him the ninth fatality since Israel started air strikes against Gaza on Thursday.
Medical reports said Samed Abdul Muti Abed, 25, was killed when a missile hit the motorcycle he was riding.
In another air strike on Shajaiyeh neighborhood of Gaza City against a gathering of people, five people were injured including two children when a missile hit the area.
Medical sources said the two children were in critical condition while the other three suffered light injuries.
Israel has been carrying out a series of air strikes on Gaza following a cross-border attack in the south of Israel on Thursday that left eight Israelis dead.
While no one took responsibility for the attack, Israel blamed armed groups in the Gaza Strip for it to justify its attacks.
