Palestinian Imports, Exports Increase in March

RAMALLAH, May 31, 2011 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) Tuesday said that Palestinian exports during March 2011 increased by 20.7% compared to February 2011 to reach US$68.3 million.

It said exports to Israel rose by 20.5% in March 2011 compared to February 2011, while international exports in the same period also rose by 22.0%.

Exports to Israel amounted to 92.7% of the total value of exports in March 2011.

PCBS said Palestinian imports in March 2011 rose by 28.8 % compared to February 2011, reaching US$497.4 million, with imports from Israel rising by 34.8% in March compared to February 2011, amounting to 72.6% of the total value of imports.

The total value of international imports increased by 15.2 % in March compared to February 2011, said PCBS.
