Israel Bans Abducted Engineer from Seeing Lawyer

RAMALLAH, March 14, 2011 (WAFA) - The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said on Monday that Israeli Askalan prison prevented Engineer Abu Sissi from meeting his lawyer.

Prisoners’ Club stressed that abducting Abu Sissi from Ukraine is another crime added to the Israeli crimes and violations of the international human law, norms and conventions.

It holds Israel responsible of the prisoner’s life considering it a public violation of human rights, dignity as well as transportation and traveling rights.

Dirar Abu Sissi, an engineer from Gaza, disappeared last month in the Ukraine while applying for a citizenship, with his Ukrainian wife and six children.

Abu Sissi is the chief operating officer of Gaza’s power station, and was visiting the Ukraine and disappeared during a a train journey from the east Ukrainian city of Kharkov to the capital Kiev, to meet his brother whom he had not seen in 15 years.
