TULKAREM, February 6, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Sunday raided various neighborhoods of Tulkarem city in the north of the West Bank, obstructing traffic, according to a WAFA reporter.
Four military vehicles and Israeli soldiers were based at the main entrance of Khadoury University to the west of the city. They stopped students to check IDs and took their personal phone numbers.
Head of Students’ Affairs at Khadoury Maher Qamhawi, considered this procedure to be unwarranted, provocative and confusing to the students especially on the first day of the second semester.
The university’s administration prevented students from leaving the campus, for their safety, until the withdrawal of the military vehicles.
Military patrols were also based at the northern entrance of the city, stopping vehicles and checking civilians’ ID cards.
