Israelis Delays Palestinians Mothers to Visit their Sons

NETANYA, February 9, 2010 (WAFA)- Campaigners picket Hadarim prison, urging Palestinian visiting mothers to pressure Hamas for captured soldier's release, today, daily Haaretz said.

Campaigners to free captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit blocked entry to the Hadarim prison near Netanya on Tuesday in an attempt to prevent mothers of Palestinian inmates visiting their sons.

Angry altercations broke out between several visitors and activists, who urged the inmates' relatives to pressure for a prisoner swap deal with the Israeli government.

'We want our sons to be released and Gilad Shalit to be set free and returned home,' one said.

A bus carrying the Palestinian visitors eventually entered the jail after a short delay.

On Friday protesters will congregate at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's private home in Caesarea, one said.
