JERUSALEM, December 3, 2009 (WAFA)- The Festival of Traditional Arts and Crafts’ events are to start on December 7, 2009 in the Convent of St. Caterina in Bethlehem.

The Event, presented by the Italian Consulate and the Italian Development Cooperation in Jerusalem, will take place in Bethlehem and Jerusalem 7th -10th 2009 December 2009.

The festival is meant to be “a journey through Italian artistic traditions accompanied by rhythms and colors typical of the Mediterranean culture. The Festival will be characterized by the rediscovery of antique cultures through four days of theatric and musical performances that will be presented in unique settings of considerable importance from an historical, artistic and religious point of view: the Manger Square of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem and the Palestinian National Theatre of Jerusalem,” a press release said.

During the whole event, various artistic exhibitions will be organized both in Bethlehem and Jerusalem. The event is organised in memory of Padre Piccirillo: his human and cultural commitment still enlightens Bethlehem streets.
