RAMALLAH, September 2, 2009, (WAFA) - Frank Finver the Public Affairs Officer at the American Consulate General in Jerusalem said: we recognize our shared values and our shared goals and peaceful future for the people in this region.
In Iftar meeting held in Ramallah on the occasion of Ramadan, Finver said: I just arrived a few days ago, just in time for this wonderful occasion. We demonstrate our respect for the holy month of Ramadan and its traditions of reflection, humility and charity.
As President Obama said in his Ramadan message “remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings,” Finver said.
Finver added: The audience here representing so many different fields including education, the arts, culture, economic development, media—have a unique talents and energy that will contribute to a peaceful and prosperous Palestinian state. The American consulate will continue to partner with you as you work toward this goal.
After the Iftars a musical concert named the rhythm of Ramadan was played by Tom Teasley and Charles Williams.
