In a joint press conference with Austrian President Heinz Fischer held Wednesday in Ramallah, President Abbas called for urgent aid to alleviate the siege off the Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip, and to deliver urgent aid to them.
He added that he discussed, in the meeting, the Arab Peace Initiative adopted in Beirut 2002, which demands Israel to withdraw from the Occupied Palestinian Territory and to establish an independent Palestinian State in exchange of total normalization of relations with the Arab countries.
The President also demanded all Palestinian parties to commit to the truce in order not to increase the suffering of the Palestinian people.
