Japan Pledges $2,850,000 to UNRWA

TOKYO, December 15, 2008 (WAFA)- The Government of Japan has decided to extend assistance of about $2,850,000 in total of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

 

In  press release, the Japanese Government pledged this amount to the UNRWA to support general fund, universal scholarship program and a project of expanding the implementation of Mother and Child Health Handbook.

 

Out of the $2,850,000 assistance, $2,550,000 will be received by The General fund of UNRWA, $200,000 will go to the University scholarship program, and $100,000 will be allocated to the Implementation (Utilization) of Mother and Child Health Handbook for Improvement of Maternal and Child Health among Palestine refugees in Jordan.
