In a joint press conference with the US President George.W Bush in Sharm El-Sheikh, President Abbas said that we know very well that you personally follow up in details what is going place in Palestine and the region, adding we are so pleased to be in constant touch to achieve our goals which the American side shares.
'We in this meeting spoke about the current peace process between us and the Israeli side, addressing President Bush that we know you and your administration are committed to reach peace before the end of 2008.' President Abbas said.
President also said that they tackled the Arab region's issues which affect the Palestinian cause, adding that we are interested the entire Arab region to live in peace and stability so as to reach peace in the Palestinian territory.
For his part, President Bush pledged to reach a solution for a Palestinian state, affirming hopes to reach a peace accord between the Palestinians and Israelis before the end of his period in 2008.
'It breaks my heart to see the vast potential of the Palestinian people really wasted,' Bush said. Pledging the creation of an independent homeland, Bush said 'It'll be an opportunity to end the suffering that takes place in the Palestinian territories.'
