RAMALLAH, May 11, 2008, (WAFA)-Head of the PLO Negotiations Affairs Department Dr. Saeb Ereikat urged on Sunday Israel 's government to cooperate with Egypt 's efforts so as to achieve calm in Gaza Strip.
During talks held in Cairo with Egyptian Intelligence Minister Omar Suleiman, Ereikat said that Suleiman would visit Israel on Monday to present the calm proposal which the Palestinian factions had accepted.
Ereikat also called on the Palestinian factions to positively cooperate with Egyptian efforts to achieve the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, explaining that the Egyptian moves come upon a request from President Mahmoud Abbas.
The calm in Gaza should include a lift of the blokade, a reopen of the crossings and elevating the suffering of the people,' Ereikat said.
