Researchers and Specialists: Gaza Prisoners Highly Concerned about their Families under Siege
GAZA, February 20, 2008, (WAFA)- Researchers and specialists in the prisoners' affairs asserted Wednesday that Gaza Strip prisoners, 900, inside Israeli jails suffer extra-suffering due to the news they head about the Israeli siege imposed against Gaza Strip.
Abdel Naser Ferwana, specialist in the prisoners' affairs, said "according to the statistics available to the prisoners' affairs ministry that there are 11000 prisoners behind Israeli bars , 98 of which are females and 355 children.
He added that the Israeli authorities do not distinguish between Gaza prisoners and the West Bank prisoners, they are all targeted regardless their conditions. The aim is to suppress them".
He as well pointed out that "the suppression the prisoners' families feel as they are banned from visiting their sons inside Israeli jails. This all creates an emotional state to the prisoners.
"The prisoners are highly concerned as a result of the risky conditions the jails witness.
