HEBRON, April 16, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained a Palestinian man from Hebron on Thursday, while colonists vandalized Palestinian agricultural fields in nearby towns of Beit Ummar and Masafer Yatta in the Hebron governorate.
WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli troops stormed the Jabal Abu Rumman area of Hebron and detained Nabeh Nabil al-Sharayati after raiding and searching his home, damaging its contents.
In the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, armed colonists released their livestock into Palestinian fields in Khirbet al-Qat, damaging vineyards and fruit-bearing peach trees.
Colonists had earlier seized part of the land at the beginning of the year, setting up a mobile home and bringing in livestock. Since then, occupation forces have prevented Palestinians from accessing their land in the area.
In a related incident, armed colonists attacked farmers harvesting their crops in the Khallat al-Homs area of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron. The settlers prevented the farmers from continuing their work and forcibly evicted them from their fields after stealing hand tools and crops belonging to Hammad Idais.
