UN Official: Israeli Wall Devastating
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, February 17, 2008, (WAFA)- Assistant of Secretary General for UN Humanitarian Affairs John Holmes voiced out Saturday his shock on seeing the Israeli Apartheid Wall and its effects on the Palestinian economical and social life.
"I did not expect it be that big", Homles said after visiting Abu Dees skirt of Jerusalem saying it is just devastating".
Wandering in the streets of Hebron and listening to some citizens' complains about the Israeli daily crimes and assaults, he said "I repeat it is devastating".
On its part, the popular committee against the siege called on Holmes to pressurize Israel uplifts the siege and reopens Gaza Strip crossings. It as well handed Holmes a hand-writing message explaining the consequences of the Israeli siege against Gaza .
