Al-Ahram Newspaper Calls on the World to End Gazans' Dilemma

CAIRO, January 29, 2008, (WAFA)- Editor in chief of Egyptian daily newspaper al-Ahram Usama Saraya called Tuesday on the international community to hastily intervene so as to seriously put an end for the Gazans dilemma in Gaza Strip in light of the Israeli military escalation and siege.

In the newspaper editorial, Saraya said that there is 1.5 million of citizens in Gaza Strip who suffer a vicious humanitarian catastrophe.

He added that the Gazans' problem was shown to the world in details. I hope such pictures would arouse the international sympathy with the Gazans as they are besieged with no water, electricity, fuel, hospitals or bakeries. All are subjected to imminent death.

"Not only they besieged from land but also from air, as the Israeli warplanes kill in a daily basis dozens of children, women and aged people", Saraya concluded.
