RAMALLAH, January 22, 2008 (WAFA)-President Mahmoud Abbas affirmed on Monday overnight his readiness to hand over and reopen Gaza crossings.

In a statement, President made it clear that he carried urgent calls with international bodies and other concerned parties to hand over the border crossings as in an attempt to ease the freedom of movements to individuals and goods.

President said," I will spare no efforts to achieve the goals of my people and avoid more disasters in spite of all Israeli acts."
