Jordan's King Discusses Mideast Peace Devilments with Quartet's Blair
AMMAN, January 8, 2008 (WAFA) - Jordan's King Abdullah II met Tuesday with Middle East quartet envoy Tony Blair to discuss latest moves aimed at pushing forward the peace negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis, a royal court statement said.
"The monarch underscored the importance of retaining the momentum generated at the Annapolis conference" on November 27 with a view to helping the Palestinians and Israelis to reach a peace agreement that involves the creation of an independent Palestinian state, it added.
King Abdullah urged a continuation of world economic aid to the Palestinian National Authority and called on the quartet to help speed up the implementation of decisions of the Palestinian donors conference in Paris on December 17.
