5 Victims, Scores Injured due to Collapse of Sewage Basins in North GS
BEIT HANOUN, March 27,(WAFA)-Palestinian Local sources said Tuesday that at least five citizens were killed and scores wounded by the flow of waste water from sewage basins in the area of Um Al-Nassr in the Bedouin village, north of the Gaza Strip(GS) after its sudden collapse.
They added that the water that poured forth from the docks has flooded dozens of houses surrounding it, causing material damage and human injury. The ambulance rushed and civil defense to the area and started rescue operations and lift to the afflicted.
Head Rural Council of Um Al-Nassr village, Ziad Abu Fariyya appealed to municipal councils in the governorates of the Gaza Strip to take urgent action to save the lives of citizens.
Early in the morning, it is reported that the sewage basins in the area of Umm Al-Nasr in the Bedouin village, north of the Gaza Strip have collapsed and led to casualties as well as to flow of water and access to more than 250 houses.
