President Hopes Success of Efforts Aiming National Unity Government


CAIRO, January 30, 2007, (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas hoped Tuesday the success of the efforts aiming at forming national unity Government.

In a press conference followed his meeting in Cairo with the Eyptian President Husni Mobarak, Abbas asserted that forming the national unity government would help in settling the situation in the Palestinian territory.

Regarding the new established "executive force" (linked to Minister of Interior) President asserted that there is nothing in the Palestinian constitution called "executive force", reiterating that such force should be joined to the Palestinian security apparatuses.

As for the "PLO, he said that there are efforts preparing for a meeting in Cairo for the reviving of the PLO.

Abbas-Mobarak meeting was attended by Member of PLO Executive Committee, Yasser Abd Rabbu, Head of PLO Negotiation Department, Saeb Ereikat, Ambassador of Palestine to Cairo, Monzer Aldajani and Head of Egyptian Intelligence Minister Omar Suleiman.
