Continuing Military Escalation, IOF Bombs House in al-Zaytoon
GAZA, May 12, 2004, (WAFA) – Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) helicopters fired Wednesday a missile at a civilian house in the neighbourhood of al-Zaytoon, and injured several citizens, witnesses and local sources said.... Eyewitnesses told WAFA that the Israeli helicopters fired a missile at the two-storey house of Rushdy Shtaiwy near al-Banaa mosque of the neighbourhood. The second floor was completely burned, due to which a grave damage was inflicted.... "Palestinian fire fighters and ambulances rushed to the scene to fight fire but Israeli troops opened fire toward them and forced them to pull back," eyewitness said.... The medics confirmed that a number of civilians were wounded including the house owner Rushdy Shtaiwy, due to the Israeli bombing. The IOF intensive shooting denied the ambulances' access into the area so as to evacuate the injured.. - -
