NEW YORK, MAY 7,2004, (WAFA)-The UN General Assembly affirmed Thursday afternoon that the status of the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, remain one of military occupation.... This came during a meeting of the General Assembly as it adopted a revised resolution on the question of Palestine.... The Assembly also affirmed, by a recorded vote of 140 in favour to 6 against, with 11 abstentions that the Palestinian people had the right to self-determination and to sovereignty over their territory, and that Israel had only the duties and obligations of an occupying Power....
