GAZA, June 29, 2025 (WAFA) – Five Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured on Sunday afternoon after Israeli occupation forces opened fire on civilians desperately waiting for food aid north of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

United Nations reports indicate that over 550 Palestinians have been killed while trying to access food under the current unfair U.S.-Israeli aid distribution mechanism, which has been widely criticized by humanitarian organizations and rejected by the UN.

Since their establishment in late May, these so-called aid corridors have effectively become death traps, where starved civilians are exposed to sniper fire, drone attacks, and other forms of military assault.

Meantime, medical sources reported that the death toll in Gaza since early Sunday has risen to 21, as Israeli attacks on civilians continue unabated across the besieged territory.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 56,412 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 133,054 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.

Israel's genocidal attacks continue undeterred despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
