IOF Arrests Citizen, Strangleholds Tulkarem
TULKAREM, April 24, 2004, (WAFA) - Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) Saturday arrested one Palestinian citizen in the city of Tulkarem and tightened their siege on the city, witnesses and Palestinian security sources said..... Several Israeli armoured vehicles swept, early on Saturday, into the village of Beit Lid, east of Tulkarem, and arrested Iyad Zbadeh 25, and led him to an undisclosed place, witnesses said, security sources confirmed.... "At early morning Israeli soldiers searched several houses, breaking into Zbadeh's house and arresting him," a neighbour said.... In the meantime, IOF beefed up their presence and tightened the siege on Tulkarem, security sources said.... The sources said that Israeli troops have turned the Palestinian houses, into posts and watch towers.... Several Israeli soldiers positioned atop "A'lya Pharmacy, south of Tulkarem Refugee Camp, while others occupied the "Abu-al-Aqran Building" in the village of Zennabeh, security sources said.... They Also installed new checkpoint at the "Bal'a junction" and provocatively restricted the movement of tens of Palestinian citizens and vehicles, witnesses and security sources confirmed.... Hundreds of students could not reach their schools and peasants could not reach their farms, witnesses said....
