Weather: Cold conditions, scattered rain as low pressure ends today but returns by midweek

 

RAMALLAH, Saturday, March 14, 2020 (WAFA) – The low pressure that affected the area yesterday is expected to continue today leading to cloudy skies and cold to very cold conditions, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Westerly to northwesterly, active to gusty wind is expected. Sea waves are medium to high.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 13°C and a low of 9°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 12°C and a low of 8°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 20°C and a low of 14°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 18°C and a low of 12°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A rise in temperature is expected for Sunday as partially cloudy to cloudy skies and relatively cold conditions continue to prevail.

A further rise in temperature is expected on Monday as moderate conditions prevail.

However, another low pressure is expected to affect the region on Tuesday bringing cold to very cold condition, rain and strong wind.

PMD warns people against low horizontal visibility and slippery roads.
