Weather forecast: Significant rise in temperature

 

RAMALLAH, Wednesday, March 11, 2020 (WAFA) – Weather today is mainly clean and pleasant to relatively warm in daytime with a significant rise in temperature which approaches 7°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Partially cloudy and relatively warm conditions are expected in nighttime. Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly wind blows. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 23°C and a low of 17°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 22°C and a low of 16°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 21°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 28°C and a low of 19°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

A slight rise in temperature is expected on Thursday, becoming 8°C above the seasonal average as weather continues to be partially cloudy and unseasonably warm in most districts.

A low pressure is set to affect the region in nighttime, causing temperature to drop and paving the way to scattered torrential rainfall and occasional thunderstorms and hail.

Friday‘s temperature is expected to plummet, paving the way to partially cloudy to cloudy, relatively cold and dusty conditions in daytime and cold conditions in nighttime.

Scattered rainfall is expected along with occasional thunderstorms in the early morning hours, with the rain intensifying towards the night.

The low pressure is expected to continue on Saturday, causing temperature to further drop and paving the way to partially cloudy to cloudy and cold conditions.

Scattered rain showers, which are occasionally torrential, are expected, along with hail and thunderstorm.

PMD warns people against floods in flood-prone area, particularly in the southern districts, gusty wind which could reach 90 km/h, low horizontal visibility and slippery roads.
