Departure comes to a halt at the border crossing from West Bank to Jordan

JERICHO, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 (WAFA) – Movement from the West Bank to Jordan came to a halt tonight as part of the joint Jordanian-Palestinian efforts to stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus disease, according to the Palestinian Crossings Authority.

It confirmed that departure from the West Bank to Jordan through the Karama/King Hussein/Allenby bridge crossing over the River Jordan will not be allowed as of tonight, thus forcing a lockdown on around four million Palestinians in the occupied territories.

Arrival of people from Jordan to the West Bank will nevertheless continue to allow Palestinians abroad to return home through the only international crossing available for them.
