Seven Palestinians detained from West Bank

HEBRON, Wednesday, November 20, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today detained seven Palestinians and ransacked several houses across the occupied West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

PPS confirmed in a press release that Israeli forces detained three Palestinians from the southern West Bank district of Hebron, including two from al-Arroub refugee camp.

In the northern West Bank, PPS confirmed an Israeli military raid in Tulkarem refugee camp, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.

Another was detained as he attempted to cross Innad military checkpoint, to the east of Tulkarem city.

PPS added that another Palestinian was detained from Beit Furik town, southeast of Nablus city, and another from Bruqin town, west of Salfit city.

Meanwhile, an Israeli military force raided Ni‘lin town, west of Ramallah, where they assaulted a former prisoner and handed him a notice to appear before intelligence after breaking into his house.

Forces also conducted a similar raid in Mazari al-Nubani village, north of Ramallah, where they assaulted a former prisoner after ransacking his house.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
