JERUSALEM, Monday, 18 November 2019 (WAFA) – The British Consul General in Jerusalem, Philip Hall, said today that journalists must be able to report free from fear of injury.
Hall was commenting on the serious injury in the eye of Palestinian photojournalist Moath Amarneh by an Israeli soldier on Friday while covering an event in the occupied West Bank.
"Following terrible loss of life in Gaza, very concerned by reports of people being shot on the West Bank too – in particular journalist Moath Amarneh losing his eye at a protest against land confiscations for an illegal settlement,” said Hall in a tweet. “Journalists must be able to report free from fear of violence or injury," adding the hashtages: #defendmediafreedom #MoathEye.
