TULKARM, December 17, 2017 (WAFA) – A number of students suffocated by teargas on Sunday as clashes renewed with Israeli forces outside the campus of the Palestine Technical University in Tulkarm, northwest of the West Bank, according to local sources.
The soldiers used teargas to disperse the students taking part in a protest, causing multiple cases of suffocation cases among the students, who were treated at the scene.
This is the second week clashes erupt outside the university between students from Palestine Technical University and Israeli soldiers, in the aftermath of US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
There have also been infrequent clashes in other points of friction across the occupied Palestinian territories since Trump’s announcement.
