JERUSALEM, December 16, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli security forces raided early Saturday the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiyeh and detained at least seven of its young residents, according to Wadi Hilweh Information Center based in Silwan, another East Jerusalem neighborhood.
It said, according to attorney Mohammad Mahmoud, that the seven Palestinians ranging in age between 17 and 21 years, were taken to the Russian compound interrogation center in West Jerusalem.
Israel regularly detains Palestinians in East Jerusalem whom it claims were active in resisting its hold on the occupied holy city.
Palestinians in East Jerusalem clashed on Friday in the city center and in the neighborhoods with Israeli security forces during widespread protests against a US decision recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
