NABLUS, Friday, November 29, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers early today morning chopped off 30 olive trees for Palestinian farmers in the village of as-Sawiya, to the south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, local sources said.
Ghassan Daghlas, a local anti-settlement activist, told WAFA that settlers from the illegal settlement of Rahalim broke into Palestinian-owned groves in the village and chopped off about 30 trees which belong to Palestinian villagers from as-Sawiya.
He added that the settlers erected a tent in the area of the attack, probably in a prelude to establish an illegal settlement outpost.
Israeli settlers carried out hundreds of attacks against Palestinian-owned olive groves since the start of this year’s olive harvest season, a main source of livelihood of thousands of Palestinian families in the countryside.
The cruelest attack occurred on the morning of October 16 when more than 30 settlers, masked and armed, attacked Palestinian farmers and foreign volunteers in Burin, north of the West Bank, injuring three of them, one seriously.
