Settlers uproot trees in Ibrahimi mosque garden in Hebron

HEBRON, Sunday, January 13, 2019 (WAFA) – Illegal Jewish settlers on Sunday uprooted olive trees after raiding the garden of Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the Old City of Hebron, the occupied West Bank, local sources said.

Jamal Abu Aram, director of the Hebron Waqf department, told WAFA that a group of settlers protected by a military escort raided the garden of the mosque and uprooted a number of olive trees under the full sight of Israeli soldiers.

He said the mosque‘s Waqf guards approached the relevant authorities to stop this attack. He blamed Israel as directly responsible for this attack.

There has been a noticeable escalation in the attacks by Jewish settlers against Palestinians and their property as well as on holy places during the past few weeks.

Around 400,000 Israeli settlers live in Jewish-only settlements scattered across the occupied West Bank, in a flagrant violation on international laws.
