Israeli settlers attack northern West Bank school

NABLUS, December 28, 2017 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers attacked on Thursday students at the Burin High School in the northern West Bank district of Nablus prompting local residents to confront them and push them back, according to the school principal Ibrahim Omran.

Israeli soldiers, who provided protection to the settlers who came from the illegal settlement of Yitzhar, fired tear gas and rubber bullets at the Palestinians causing several cases of suffocation from gas inhalation and rubber bullet injuries.

Omran said the students were sitting for their mid-term exams when some 15 settlers attacked the school under army protection. He said the students clashed with the settlers and soldiers causing some injuries from tear gas inhalation.

The school stopped the exams and dismissed the students after the premises were filled with tear gas smoke making it very difficult to continue with classes.

The settlers also caused serious damage to three cars for teachers that were parked at the school.
