RAMALLAH, Monday, July 29, 2019 (WAFA) – The call by Israel’s Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz to invest over $15 million to encourage countries to move their embassy in Israel to Jerusalem is proof of failure of its policy to get countries to recognize its rule over Jerusalem, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said today.
It said in a statement that this call “proves the Israeli government’s insistence on using political blackmail and exploitation of the needs of some countries to change their position from the United Nations resolutions which affirm that East Jerusalem is an integral part of the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967.”
It also confirms “the failure of the American-Israeli attempts, which did not stop for one day, to get states to change their position of adhering to international law and the international legality.”
It said that Katz’s proposal, which is part of an election ploy, is going to fail, stressing that the Palestinian Foreign Ministry is going to file lawsuits at the International Court of Justice against any country that moves its embassy to occupied Jerusalem.
