RAMALLAH, Saturday, May 25, 2019 (WAFA) – The heat wave that hit Palestine over the last few days starts to subside today with a drop in temperature which nevertheless remains 5°C above the seasonal average, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Wind is northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times and sea waves are low.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 19°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 29°C and a low of 18°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 39°C and a low of 25°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 28°C and a low of 21°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
No change in temperature or weather conditions is expected for Sunday, but a slight rise in temperature is expected for Monday and Tuesday to approach 6°C above the seasonal average.
PMD warns people against direct exposure to sunlight for long period, particularly from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, and setting fire to dry leaves and grass.
