RAMALLAH, Thursday, May 23, 2019 (WAFA) - The trade balance which represents the difference between exports and imports showed a decrease in trade deficit by 4% in March compared to February, said the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) today. It also decreased by 2% compared to March 2018 and reached $362.9 million.
Exports increased in March by 12% compared to February, while it decreased by 1% compared to March 2018 and reached $93.8 million, said the PCBS.
Exports to Israel increased in March by 6% compared to February and it represented 84% of total exports in March.
At the same time, exports to other countries increased by 56% during the same period and reached $14.8 million.
Imports, on the other hand, decreased in March by 1% compared to February and by 2% compared to March 2018 and reached $456.7 million.
Imports from Israel decreased by 2% in March compared to February and it represented 58% of total imports in March.
On the other hand, imports from other countries increased by 2% compared to February.
