RAMALLAH, Thursday, April 11, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained 15 Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
PPS confirmed that three Palestinians were rounded up during several military raids across the central West Bank district of Ramallah.
Israeli forces detained two former prisoners during separate two raids in al-Mazraa al-Gharbiyya village and al-Jalazoun refugee camp, west and north of Ramallah.
Israeli military vehicles also raided Jifna town, north of Ramallah city, where soldiers rounded up a Palestinian after ransacking his house.
In Jerusalem district, PPS confirmed that Israeli forces conducted a raid in Qalandiya refugee camp, resulting in the detention of a 16-year-old Palestinian teen.
In the southern West Bank, PPS said that three former Palestinian prisoners were rounded up from Bethlehem district.
One former prisoner was detained from Shawawra village, east of Bethlehem, another from the neighboring Dar Salah village, and the third from Beit Fajjar town, south of Bethlehem.
During the raids, soldiers stormed and ransacked several homes, causing extensive damage.
PPS also confirmed an overnight military raid in Bani Naim town, east of Hebron, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.
In the northern West Bank, Israeli troops detained two Palestinians and ransacked houses in separate two raids in al-Yamoun town and Ajja village, west and south of Jenin.
Three others, including a former prisoner, were rounded up during several raids across the northern West Bank district of Nablus.
Israeli forces also detained three Palestinians during raids across Salfit district.
The raids were carried out in Bruqin and Hares villages as well as Az-Zawiya town, west and north of Salfit city.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
