RAMALLAH, Thursday, February 28, 2019 (WAFA) – The low pressure is set to continue to affect the region on Thursday, causing temperature to further plummet, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Cloudy, cold to very cold and very windy conditions are expected to prevail with torrential rains, thunderstorms and occasional hail on various districts. A slight chance of light snowfall is expected on mountains at an altitude of over 1000 meters above sea level.
Wind is northwesterly to westerly, moderate to active, with gusts reaching 80km/h. Sea waves are medium to high.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 8°C and a low of 5°C and in Ramallah, a high of 7°C and a low of 3°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 18°C and a low of 9°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 14°C and a low of 9°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Partially cloudy and mainly chilly conditions are expected for Friday. Scattered rains are set to fall on various districts, with chances of rainfall diminishing during the afternoon and evening hours and the low pressure receding during the night.
PMD expects partially cloudy and mainly chilly conditions for Saturday. Scattered rain showers are expected to fall on most districts.
Sunday’s temperature is set to rise with partially cloudy to clear and relatively cold conditions in daytime and cold conditions in nighttime.
PMD warns people against gusty winds, floods in low areas and valleys, low visibility due to fog formation and slippery roads on Thursday.
