BEIRUT, April 4, 2026 (WAFA) – The death toll in Lebanon has risen to 1,422, including 125 children and 91 women, as a result of the ongoing Israeli onslaught on the country since March 2, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported on Saturday.
According to the ministry’s daily emergency operations update, the total number of injured has reached 4,294, including 433 children and 488 women.
Earlier today, two Lebanese civilians were killed and several others injured in renewed airstrikes targeting southern Lebanon.
The National News Agency of Lebanon reported that two people were killed when an Israeli drone targeted a motorcycle on the Qadmous road north of Tyre. In addition, ten people were wounded in shelling on the town of Maarakeh in the Tyre district, according to the ministry’s emergency operations center.
Since dawn, Israeli warplanes have carried out raids on southern Beirut, hitting neighborhoods including Madi, Al-Jamous, Al-Amanah station, Hawitit Al-Ghadeer, and Saint Therese.
Air raids also targeted residential homes in the towns of Tebnine and Al-Burj Al-Shamali, while villages in the Tyre district experienced a series of intense nighttime attacks.
