SALFIT, Wednesday, December 05, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday detained 23 Palestinians, including three former prisoners and a 14-year-old minor, during multiple overnight raids across the West Bank, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
Israeli military jeeps raided Salfit city, where they detained two Palestinians, including a former prisoner.
Israeli forces also detained two other Palestinians in separate two raids into Iskaka and Qarawat Bani Hassan, east and west of Salfit city.
In Ramallah district, military jeeps raided Deir Nitham village, northwest of Ramallah, where soldiers detained three Palestinians.
PPS added that another was detained from Ramallah and al-Bireh district. He is reportedly a Birzeit University student.
In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces ransacked several homes and detained two Palestinians, including a former prisoner, from Tubas city.
Soldiers detained three others after breaking into and ransacking their homes in Qalqiliya district.
Elsewhere, military armored jeeps raided Shweika village, north of Tulkarem, where soldiers detained a Palestinian after ransacking his home.
A similar raid was reported in the western neighborhood of Tulkarem city, where soldiers seized the surveillance camera recordings of a local restaurant.
This raid came a day following the killing of a Palestinian with mental disability by Israeli gunfire near the restaurant.
Mohammad Habali, 22, succumbed to his critical injuries after being shot with a rubber-coated steel bullet in the leg and a second time in the head. He worked at a coffee shop in the city until late night hours.
In the southern West Bank, an Israeli military raid was reported in al-Azzeh refugee camp, north of Bethlehem, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.
A similar raid was reported in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, resulting in the detention of another.
PPS said that another was rounded up from Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, Israeli troops rounded up two Palestinian brothers after holding them for several hours near Jericho district.
In Hebron district, Israeli forces conducted a raid into al-Arrub refugee camp, north of Hebron, and detained two Palestinians, including a 14-year-old minor.
A similar military raid was reported in Halhul town, north of Hebron, where soldiers detained a former prisoner and seized his vehicle.
A resident of Yatta town, south of Hebron, was detained after being stopped at the Container military checkpoint, east of Bethlehem.
Israeli forces frequently conduct large-scale overnight detention raids almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
