HEBRON, Tuesday, December 04, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday conducted multiple predawn raids across the West Bank and detained 28 Palestinians, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
Israeli forces detained four Palestinians after ransacking their homes in the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
Another Palestinian was detained during an overnight military raid into Beit Ula, northwest of Hebron.
Forces conducted a similar raid into Beit Ummar, north of Hebron city, searching and wreaking havoc into several houses and detaining two former prisoners and two minors, aged 16 and 14 years.
Meanwhile, several military raids that triggered confrontations were reported across Bethlehem and neighboring Beit Sahour, al-Doha and al-Khader.
Soldiers reportedly detained a Palestinian after breaking into his house in the Bethlehem-city neighborhood of al-Karkafeh.
Two others, including a former prisoner who spent nine years behind Israeli bars, were detained from Bethlehem district as reported in the PPS statement.
In Jerusalem district, Israeli military police detained at least four Palestinians from Hizma town, northeast of the city.
In the meantime, forces carried out raids into the Ramallah-district villages of Budrus, Deir Abu Mashaal and al-Mazra‘a al-Sharqiya, resulting in the detention of three Palestinians.
Soldiers also detained a young woman after stopping her at a checkpoint at the entrance of Kifl Hares village, west of Salfit in the north of the West Bank.
The girl, a resident of the nearby village of Deir Istiya, was heading to her work before being detained.
In the northern West Bank as well, forces detained four Palestinians during a raid that triggered clashes in the archeological town of Sebastia.
Soldiers reportedly fired tear gas canisters and rubber-coated steel bullets towards youths protesting the raid. No injuries were reported though.
A former prisoner was rounded up from his house in Beit Dajan town, east of Nablus.
In the northeastern district of Tubas, soldiers detained two Palestinians after storming their houses in al-Far‘a refugee camp.
Israeli forces frequently conduct large-scale overnight detention raids almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
